"Whether you play the piano or do cross-stitch, it's that experience of having 20 minutes to spare but ending up doing it for 40 minutes because you've let go of all the stimuli and expectations and drudgery and allowed yourself to just be." Judith Lies, Seeds of Mindfulness

Starting the Teapot Kit

Treasured Friend Teapot kit arrived yesterday. This will go faster than I had hoped, as it is mostly half stitches, more like needlepoint. The full stitches are the flowers and some highlights on the teapot, which will make them stand out from the teapot nicely. The fabric is beige aida, so the whole canvas does not need to be filled in.

I was not at all happy with the way Dimensions just dumps a hank of unlabeled threads in this kit. It took forever to untangle them, sort them out and try to figure out which color is which. They snag up and knot very easily too, maybe they use a cheap brand of floss. If I ever try another Dimensions kit I will plan to replace all the colors with DMC.

Progress posts here.

An Idea About My Wish List

When I created this blog I started a wish list page without much hope of making any trades, as my meager stash is still packed in a bin somewhere from the move, and I have no money to spare for cash trades. This morning a light bulb went on, and I posted this on my wish list page as well. I could do graphics in exchange for cross stitch stash. I have nine years experience in Photoshop, so I could do anything from creating blinkies and sig graphics to retouching and editing photos.

If you would like some kind of graphics services, please take a look at my wishlist. Thanks.
